On
Veterans' Day we stopped by
Buddy Dog and we found our new dog. He's a one year old male who looks to be at least part black lab. His name was supposed to be Biggly (Big & Wiggly) but he didn't respond to it, so Mariana re-named him
Ender, after the main character in her
favorite book.

Ender is a super playful and fun guy. We are going to have great times together. But right now he's a bit of a handful. He was brought up from
South Carolina as a
rescue dog. So we'll need to be patient as he gets used to living with us. Already he's doing very well getting house trained. He's making slower progress in other areas - like jumping up on people and eating shoes (and backpacks and chairs and phones). But he'll be ok. It will just take time. The main thing is he's a happy guy and he's super friendly to everybody.

If anyone's interested, I can tell you all I learned before deciding to adopt a rescue dog instead of buying a pup from a breeder. There are pros and cons to each.
